I specialize in light tackle sport fishing for walleye, bass, and perch on a 30 ft Sportcraft. When we fish for Walleye; we drift fish. We utilize 6-8 lb. test line. Medium to medium lgt, rods and reels, and cast and retrieve.We drift and cast because we are SPORT FISHERMEN.If you enjoy baiting your own hook,casting and working the lure properly,setting the hook yourself,fighting the fish on light tackle, and accoplishing something through your own efforts CALL ME!!!!

If you prefer  to "fish"  by other means with heavy tackle that outmuscles the fish, while you sit and wait your turn for the boat to hook your fish  DON"T CALL ME. I  SPORT FISH for a living ! That means I don't follow the other boats so I can troll around and through them.

I strive to make your trip the most comfortable, convenient, and successful experience that you can have.  I dock behind America's Best Value Inn  /  Lakeland Motel in downtown Port Clinton . The motel is comfortable , clean, and a huge step above the " luxury trailers " you hear about. From here, Irish C Charters can offer advantages and services that NO OTHER charter can even come close to providing. There is NO excessive driving.  The fish cleaners and tackle stores are on either side of the marina.  There are 20 restaurants, 10 bars, numerous shops, the Jet Express to the islands all within easy walking distance from my boat and the motel. By easy I don't mean 15-20-30 minute walks. I mean 5 or less to get where you need to be. NO EXCESSIVE DRIVING!!!!! Many guests enjoy the deck behind the motel and overlooking the marina and utilize the grills to cookout  We have our own bar on the water, The BAIT HOUSE , which is new this year , has entertainment on weekends and you are always welcome there to enjoy the cheapest prices in town.. Some like to continue fishing after their trip and fish in the Portage River where the marina /motel is located. Sometimes mother nature doesn't cooperate so it's nice to have an option available until the weather gets better. On the days we do run, my boat is LESS THAN 5 MINS. to the lake and 15 MINS to the reefs and 20 MINS to the islands depending on the weather.  Stay at the motel while enjoying a 10%discount off the rooms for fishing with Irish C Charters and walk out the motels's back door and onto the boat. No other charter service is so convenient and fisherman friendly

Capt Pat's rules : You can drink what you want on the trip. Bottle beer is ok. USE a Coozie. Liquor / wine is ok. BE AN ADULT!!!! You get carried away, TRIP OVER!!! I trust you to act sensibly and mature . If you want to party do it on shore after the trip.Capt.Pat likes Bud in bottles. The fish cleaner will pick the fish up at the boat so you won''t have to deal with that and will store them until you leave[ no extra cost .] If you want to bring your own rods and reels, that's fine. I have the tackle for those who don't. I provide the experience, the knowledge,  bait, ice for  the fish. I provide the first lure.After that, you buy at a reasonable rate. I rarely fish so it's up to you to put the fish on the boat. You won't find me on the bow 28 ft. away tossing fish into the cooler. That's YOUR job. You're paying to catch the fish, not watch me do it. But sometimes I will help if it's a nice day and not raining. Always remember that GOOD CHARTERS aren't cheap and CHEAP CHARTERS aren't good. You get what you pay for!!!!!!

I run my boat and very rarely is there a first mate. In case of multiple boat charters, every captain in the marina owns their  own boat. There are no rent-a-captains on my charters. NO ex headboat captains, NO retirees looking for work,NO unemployed fish cleaners, NO part time captains, and NO unemployed 35 year old captains with 40 years experience who don't own their own boat! ONLY fulltime  professional owner/operators who have been in business for years and know how to run a charter and operate a boat safely.

We fish both Ohio waters and Canadian.I will let you know ahead of time which license you will need.
